The Board of Directors of Salem Memorial Hospital District announced the appointment of Wayne Reid, MBA, as the hospital’s new chief executive officer effective Aug. 29.
Starting his healthcare career in the Air Force, Reid brings more than 30 years of hospital operations and leadership experience, working in for-profit and faith-based, and non-profit health systems.
Prior to this appointment, Reid served as CEO of Select Specialty Hospital in Charleston, West Virginia. Additionally, he has worked as chief operating officer for Mercy Health hospitals in Ohio and Kentucky, as well as vice president of Ashland City Hospital, a critical access hospital in Ashland City, Tennessee.
“It was a pleasure meeting the board members, hospital leadership and members of the medical staff and I look forward to actively working with this committed group to ensure we meet the health needs of the region,” said Reid. “My wife and I have already been impressed with the warm welcome and the amazing community we’ve found in Salem. I am excited to see what the community and Salem Memorial Hospital District will accomplish together.”
Reid, his wife, Tammy, and two of their sons are looking forward to relocating to the Salem area from Charleston, West Virginia.
