The Dent County Commission met for its weekly meeting Monday, Jan. 5. In attendance included County Clerk Angie Curley, Presiding Commissioner Gary Larson, First District Commissioner Keith Green, and Second District Commissioner Jimmy Williams.
The commissioners have set a date of 10 a.m., Thursday Jan. 15 for the release of its tentative budget to the public. The actual budget hearing will be held, meanwhile, 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 26.
During its meeting Monday, Dec. 29, several county officials discussed budget requests with commissioners, including Kristi Craig, circuit clerk; Bob Wells, sheriff; and Alisa Brookshire, assessor.
Curley has balanced with the treasurer on all monthly accounts, which the commission has reviewed. She reminded all voting districts that the deadline to provide the election certification notice is 5 p.m. Jan. 27. If not submitted on time, districts will need a court order to be put on the ballot.
Road Reports
District One Commissioner Keith Green
Crew members will be grading on county roads 4150, 4155, 4157, 5400, and 5490. Crew members will also be cutting brush on County Road 5615 and hauling rock where needed.
District Two Commissioner Jimmy Williams
Crew members will be grading on county roads 2025, 2110, 2115, and 3450. Crew members will also be hauling rock to County Road 2110 and installing signs on county roads 2240 and 2250.
