Dent County Commissioners met Monday. District One Commissioner Dennis Purcell reported that over the weekend limbs fell on the chip and seal of County Road 6240 and a few more in the Bunker area. In light of the more than three inches of rain crews will be checking roads for washout and other possible damage. If time permits, the crews will return to usual maintenance duties.
Presiding Commissioner Darrell Skiles was absent. His report will be heard at the next scheduled meeting. District Two Commissioner Gary Larson presided over the meeting in Skiles’ absence.
Larson reported that crews will continue to grade on county roads on 2120 and 2160 and cutting brush along 2230 and 2540.
County Clerk Angie Curley reported that she continues to work on the 2021 budget for later approval. She also urged a reminder that the deadline is Dec. 15 for filing to participate in the April election.
• The commission approved the review of more CARES act fund applications.
• The board approved the county’s purchase of a new 4X4 truck for $11,600.
No County Commission meeting will take place next Monday. Commissioners will be virtually attending the Missouri Association of Counties meeting.
