Two Salem women each face felony offenses in connection to a search warrant locating drugs at their residence, according to documents filed in circuit court.
• Dawn M. Inman, born 1991, is charged in a Sept. 18 warrant with felony counts of second-degree trafficking drugs, possession of controlled substance and keeping or maintaining a public nuisance as well as one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $50,000.
• Angel L. Steelman, born 1994, is charged in a Sept. 18 warrant with felony counts of second-degree trafficking drugs, possession of controlled substance and keeping or maintaining a public nuisance as well as one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $50,000.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant Sept. 17 in the 1000 block of East Pace Street in Salem, according to the case’s probable cause statement. The statement says the team executing the warrant included officers from the Salem Police Department, deputies from the Dent County Sheriff's Office and troopers of the Missouri State Highway Patrol. It states the search warrant was applied for and granted in reference to information fentanyl and methamphetamine was being sold from the house.
Inman and Steelman were found inside the house upon execution of the warrant, according to the statement. It details searches found Steelman possessed five fentanyl capsules weighing .8 a gram. Inman possessed a baggie containing 7.5 grams of fentanyl and pill bottle containing 2.5 grams.
The statement also says one gram of meth was found in the room where Inman and Steelman were residing along with a smoking pipe. Another 2.5 grams of fentanyl were additionally found in the room within a baggie on a table.
Steelman is quoted in the statement as admitting to purchasing the drugs in St. Louis and bringing them back to Salem.
The charges for which Inman and Steelman were arrested are merely accusation and not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of the charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
