The Dent County Commission met for its weekly meeting Thursday, Nov. 6. In attendance included Presiding Commissioner Gary Larson, First District Commissioner Keith Green, Second District Commissioner Jimmy Williams, and County Clerk Angie Curley.
The Dent County Courthouse will be closed Tuesday, Nov. 11 (today) in honor of Veterans Day.
County Collector Shannon VanKirk reported an update on SB190, sharing that all taxing entities are to receive a letter informing the loss to revenue. The total loss to all taxing entities was $4,021.35. The loss to Dent County was $38.09; loss to road and bridge department was $245.94; and the loss to the senior citizen fund was $46.33.
Curley reported that the collector and assessor have balanced on all monthly collections, abatements, and add-ons. Bills are to be approved.
Fuel bids came in for diesel, with the MFA Oil coming in at $2.5567; Phil-Mart at $2.81; and County Fuels at $2.62. The bid was awarded to MFA Oil.
District One Commissioner Keith Green
Crew members were out grading County Road 5530 and 5017 and cutting brush on County Road 5530. Patching will be completed on county roads 6510, 6100, and 6180.
District Two Commissioner Jimmy Williams
Crew members were out grading county roads 2610, 2613, 2580, 2570, 5240, and 4380; cutting brush on county roads 2140 and 2150; and taking dump truck #122 for repairs in Springfield.
