In the last year, our club was able to help with Hurricane Helene, make six family’s Thanksgiving dinner baskets, and sponsor two families for Christmas. We set a budget for the community service projects we voted to do again this year.
Several projects are still needing a project leader for the year. We got volunteers to help with Dent County’s 4-H Trunk or Treat booth. We will have a tree to decorate for the Trees and Trains exhibit again this year. We also have dates for weigh ins, quality assurance, market meeting, 4-H/FFA Annual Expo, and the State Fair. We had our first project report from me about my cake decorating project.
After our meeting, we had a fun game to play from our game leader Asher.
The next Green Forest 4-H meeting will be at First Baptist Church 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10.

John Hewkin has been a sports fan since he was a kid. He’s played, coached and been a fan of sports. I was a sports writer for 15 years before moving back to Missouri, but to this day you will still find me in my man cave a lot of nights and weekends watching something that requires a ball.
