Missouri University of Science and Technology students will have the chance to meet with over 1,000 recruiters at the Spring Career Fair this February. At last count, 342 companies have registered for the event.
The fair will be held 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 21, in the Gale Bullman Building on the Missouri S&T campus. The fair is open to Missouri S&T students and alumni seeking internships, co-ops and full-time positions.
“The Career Fair is a wonderful opportunity for our students to network with employers,” says Dr. Will Zwikelmaier, director of Career Opportunities and Employer Relations (COER) at Missouri S&T. “I would encourage all students to come to the fair, even if they already have internships or co-ops lined up —they can make connections that will set them up for their next move.”
According to the latest data from COER, the average starting salary for S&T graduates is approximately $70,400, and the average hourly pay for students participating in co-ops or internships is $21.40. Plus, Missouri S&T ranks among the nation’s top universities for graduates’ economic success, according to recent rankings released by the college guide website DegreeChoices.
Attendees should download the Career Fair Plus mobile app, where they can filter employers by major and industry and plan their route through the fair. There will not be printed maps available, so attendees should plan to bring a mobile device with the app already downloaded.
Attendees should also plan to print out copies of their resumes to give to employers, in addition to uploading their resumes to the Career Fair Plus app. COER requires attendees to adhere to a professional dress code for entry to the Career Fair.
