According to reports by Salem Police Department between July 30 and Aug. 19 there was a total of 446 calls for service. Officers with the Salem Police Department conducted 66 traffic stops for various traffic violations with 17 resulting in a summons or arrest. Officers conducted three traffic accident investigations along with 11 informational reports. Of the calls for service and traffic stops the following reports were generated:
• While on patrol Aug. 1, officers located a male subject at 1 p.m. who had an active capias warrant out of the Dent County Sheriffs Office. As a result, Jacob Likes, 34 of Salem, was arrested and incarcerated at the Dent County Jail.
• An officer, while on patrol, noticed a suspicious female subject conceal herself upon seeing the patrol vehicle on Aug. 1 at 2:15 p.m. Contact was made with the subject who was later found to be in possession of methamphetamine and methamphetamine paraphernalia. As a result of the investigation a 31-year-old Salem female was arrested and incarcerated at the Dent County Jail.
• Officers responded to motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles near Burger King Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m. During the investigation officers were made aware that the driver of one of the involved vehicles was intoxicated and had pulled out and struck the other vehicle. The parties in the other vehicle also sustained injuries and were taken to SMDH for further evaluation. As a result of the investigation a 43-year-old Houston male was arrested and charged with DWI resulting in serious physical injury and assault.
• Officers conducted a traffic stop on Missouri Hwy. 32 and Doss Rd. for expired license Aug. 6 at 12 p.m. During the stop it was found the male subject had an active warrant for his arrest out of the Dent County Sheriffs Office for no insurance. As a result, Johnnie Revelle, 41 of Salem, was arrested and later released on bond.
• An officer responded to Rolla on Aug. 6 at 10:30 p.m. to pick up a male subject that had three active warrants out of the City of Salem for failure to appear. As a result, Scott Smith, 40 of Salem, was arrested and incarcerated on the warrants at the Dent County Jail.
• An officer received information on Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m. that a male subject was at Walmart that had active warrants for his arrest for failure to appear on a domestic assault charge. As a result of the tip officers arrested William Scott, 24 of Salem, and he was incarcerated at the Dent County Jail awaiting bond.
• Officers conducted a traffic stop Aug. 9 at 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Carty and Center St. During the traffic stop a female subject who officers knew to have an active capias warrant fled on foot from the traffic stop. As a result, the female subject was identified as Deseray Fish, 23 of Salem, and was later picked up and incarcerated on her warrant at the Dent County Jail.
• Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop Aug. 14 at 5 p.m. on a vehicle at the intersection of 5th and Main St. for a report of possibly being intoxicated. The vehicle failed to yield, leading officers on a pursuit before finally coming to a stop at the 700 block of N. Pershing. As a result of the investigation a 48-year-old Salem female was arrested and issued summons to appear in court for careless and imprudent driving and resisting arrest.
