A 2021 conviction for sodomy was affirmed on Jan. 16 by a mandate from the Missouri Court of Appeals’ Southern District, according to an announcement from the Dent County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Eric Hines was convicted of one count of felony first-degree statutory sodomy following a two-day jury trial which concluded April 6, 2021. Following the sentencing hearing, Hines was sentenced to 75 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, as recommended by the jury and Prosecutor Andrew Curley. Hines was arrested on Feb. 26, 2021, over allegations he engaged in deviate sexual intercourse with a victim who was less than 12 years old in Dent County between Jan. 1, 2018, and July 11, 2018.
