A meeting of the Dent County Fire Protection District Board of Directors was held on Nov. 14.
Members present were Craig Smith, David Greenshields, Liz Gruendel, Mike Godi, and Dr. Leigh Ann Price.
A motion was made to approve the consent agenda, which included minutes from the previous meeting, a financial report with an ending balance of $80,371.32, bills, payments, and statements, as well as the budget for 2023. The budget for 2024 was also discussed. After discussion, a motion was made and seconded to adapt the 2023 budget for 2024. The motion carried unanimously.
The calendar was reviewed. On Friday, Nov. 17, the ladders will be tested for the district. The hospital will be holding a class for pre-hospital life support on Nov. 28, there will be a potluck dinner on Dec. 5 at the department for all the firefighters, and reimbursement checks for the year will also be dispersed on Dec. 5.
A monthly reimbursements report was given, with a total of 24 calls for the month and 242 for the year.
During old business, Truck 85 was discussed; The truck is still being worked on and is not in service.
During the report of Fire Chief Brad Nash, he reported that the National Fire Incident Reporting System for Missouri is being changed, and the district will have to seek new software to remain compliant. He is currently looking into applications that will comply and meet the district’s needs.
The date for the next meeting was set for Dec. 12 at 6 p.m. at DCFPD.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
