Agricultural lenders across Missouri are invited to attend the 2025 Agricultural Lenders Seminar series, which is designed to equip professionals with essential updates for the 2026 growing season.
Hosted by University of Missouri Extension, the MU Food and Agricultural Policy Research Institute and the MU Rural and Farm Finance Policy Analysis Center, the series looks at commodity markets, production costs, farmland values and region-specific topics affecting Missouri agriculture.
“These seminars are built with Missouri agriculture’s needs in mind, as well as those of the service providers working with farmers and ranchers,” said Ben Brown, MU Extension agricultural economist and seminar coordinator. “We combine statewide economic trends with local topics to help lenders be best positioned to assist their clientele.”
Each seminar will look at market movement and price volatility for key Missouri commodities; give an overview of updated enterprise budgets for major crop, livestock and fruit and vegetable enterprises to help lenders better assess borrower profitability; provide an update on farm policy and tax developments; and explore current trends in farmland values and cash rent benchmarks across Missouri. Regional topics will be tailored to the production landscape and needs of the area.
Seminars will be held in six locations across the Show-Me State, all starting at 9:30 a.m.:
Nov. 4 – Jefferson City. Regional topics include cattle and forage production resources.
Nov. 6 – Springfield. Regional topics include specialty crop and value-added agricultural resources.
Nov. 13 – Sikeston. Regional topics include southeastern crop outlooks, carbon intensity scoring in row crop production and machinery economics.
Nov. 18 – Warsaw. Regional topics include poultry and egg industry updates.
Nov. 20 – Chillicothe. Regional topics include farm policy and tax updates.
Nov. 25 – Mexico. Regional topic includes regulatory updates for Missouri agriculture.
Past attendees consistently praise the Ag Lender Seminar series for its relevance and impact.
