Healthy Dent County Director Sherry Lea and Shawn Bolerjack attended the Dent County Commission meeting Monday morning to inform the county of a plan to request approval by the Board of Aldermen for road closures to hold a Run Salem 5K, 10K and Color Run from 6:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. May 28. Lea told the commission that organizers wanted to let the county know about it because one of the proposed road closures is adjacent to the courthouse. The road closures relevant to the county if approved are W. Fourth St., which will be closed between N. Washington Main St. and E. Fourth St., will be closed between Main St. and N. Iron St. and the south side of E. Fourth St. will be closed the rest of the way to N. Pershing.
Bolerjack attended the meeting as the point of contact for the Run Salem event—not in an official capacity as a City of Salem alderman.
