The Dragonfly Wings Foundation announced several of its annual memorial gifts have been presented for 2025 to aid in the development of several Dent County educational programs, including a $10,000 Dick and Edie Durbin Memorial Gift presented to the Dent County Public Schools Foundation, which supports Dent County teachers in the classroom; a $5,000 St. John Family Memorial Gift presented to the Friends of the Public Library program, which supports early education programs for children in Dent County; and a $5,000 Ronald Tucker Jr. Memorial Gift presented to the award winning Salem High School Choir, to support them in their travels to competitions across the nation and abroad.
The Dragonfly Wings Foundation will be holding its second community event at the end of this week, from Friday, Nov. 7 to Sunday, Nov. 9 at the Flemings Store on 114 W. 4th Street, Downtown Salem. The event will be a three day cash and carry sale. There will be a variety of items available, including vintage items, Christmas items, toys, kitchenware, and plenty of pie flavors.
