James Wesson, Community Services Team Manager at Choices for People was guest speaker at Salem Rotary. Choices for People was started in 1957, as the Rolla Cerebral Palsy School by a grassroots organization. It was created to fill a need for services for the disabled. A group of members and families from the community came together to provide services that were not available at the time.
In 1992, the name was changed to Choices for People and focus was targeted toward adults who needed services. These services include Community Services, Day Services, Employment Services, and Residential Services.
Choices for People is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation. Through personalized care, meaningful support, and the strength of community, the non-profit empowers individuals with disabilities to live fully, connect deeply, and grow with purpose.
Choices for People currently has locations in Cole, Dent, Phelps and Pulaski counties with Texas and Crawford/Franklin County coming this fall. All together they service 30 counties.
