Area churches were contacted by The Salem News last week and asked to provide information on how they are conducting Sunday services during the COVID-19 crisis.

Easter is Sunday, and there are still ample opportunities to observe this special occasion. Guests are always welcome!

The following churches responded with information about services:

Oak Grove Baptist Church

The church is broadcasting Sunday morning sermons 10:30 a.m. on the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.

Salem Church of Christ

Weekly recorded sermons can be found on the church’s Facebook page and on YouTube under Salem coc.

Boss Assembly of God

22518 E Hwy 32

The church service is live on Facebook every Sunday at 10:30 a.m.. There is a Sunday School lesson, singing and a message from pastor Paul Davis. The Facebook page is Boss A/G Church.

New Hope Church Cumberland Presbyterian

County Road 6200 between Hwy K & Z

New Hope puts up a video worship service on its Facebook page each Sunday, normally by 11 a.m. if upload speeds are good. Go to https://www.facebook.com/NHCPC/. Mid-week videos and announcements will also be available. The pastor can be reached by call or text, (573) 578-6216.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

1701 W Franklin St.

Members are authorized to hold services in their own homes. Those with proper priesthood authority may administer the sacrament for their family. Those without priesthood in the home may choose to join with a family that does.

Walking Faith Ministries

The church is holding services at the church, on Sundays at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. They are also live streaming all services on Facebook.

Redeeming Grace Ministries

570 County Road 2320

A drive-in style church is being held outside in the church parking lot (weather permitting) every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. Cars are parked a car-length apart from one another and everybody must stay in their vehicles. We are also broadcasting a live stream of the worship services on the church Facebook page, @Redeeming Grace Ministries.

First Baptist Church

201 N. MacArthur Ave.

Currently the in-person activities are suspended and services are conducted for television/radio/internet. Sunday morning services air 10:15 a.m. on Fidelity Channel 95, on radio on 1340 AM KSMO, and on the church Facebook page (www.facebook.com/firstbaptistsalemmo). There are also various videos and resources posted throughout the week on the church Facebook page.

First Church of God

Hwy 19 North

Being an elderly congregation, the church has postponed services until at least after Easter Sunday to try to stay safe. The church does not have the facilities to effectively share services over the internet.

Macedonia United Baptist

Services are on Facebook live only each Sunday.

Sligo United Methodist Church

The church is having a drive-thru Communion Service Easter Sunday at 10 a.m. Anyone who wants to have communion can drive through in their car or truck and not have to get out. Rev. Jeannette and her husband Milo will give the communion through the window.

Fisher’s of Men Church

1100B W Scenic Rivers Blvd.

The church has service 6 p.m. Wednesday and Sunday services at 11 a.m.

Salem Lutheran Church

403 E. Scenic Rivers Blvd.

The pastor's sermon is aired on KSMO 1340 AM on Sunday at 8:45 a.m. The church is also conducting live Bible class at 9:30 a.m. through Facebook live, as well as the sermon, Scripture, and prayers at 10:45 a.m. You can see the activities on Facebook. Look for Salem Lutheran Church-Salem MO.

Grace Community Church

600 S. Water Street

Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m., with live worship, can be seen at www.gccsalem.org or on Facebook Live on the Grace Community Church Facebook page. Wednesday Devotion is at 7 p.m. and can be seen on Facebook Live on the Grace Community Church Facebook page only.

New Harmony Church

5841 Hwy 32 W

The church is live-streaming services on Youtube each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. You can go to nharmony.org and click the livestream link which will take you to the YouTube page.
