Miss Salem 2018 Katelyn Schwartz will crown the 2019 Miss Salem in ceremonies held Saturday at City Hall. Master of ceremonies David Massengale will guide the program, and interview Schwartz.
The show begins at 7 p.m., doors open at 6:30 p.m.
This will be the first event held in the Salem Civic Theater, formerly known as Old City Hall, as it undergoes planned renovations. Attendees will notice freshly painted walls, a new sound system, and the other changes to various other facets of the building.
Variety show acts will feature Linda Maledy’s dancers from Salem Academy of Dance performing Cowgirl Ballet, Cotton Eyed Joe, and Heartache on the Dance Floor. Rachel Privett and friends will perform various songs. A demonstration of ATA Taekwondo will be directed by John Stagner. A comedy skit by Salem Upper Elementary fifth grade teachers and friends will also be enjoyed.
Cosmopolitan Club President Catherine Dent, will once again serve as narrator for the contestants.
