A fire at a pallet mill and a home on Highway 119 west of Salem Tuesday was fought for five hours by eight separate departments, according to the Montauk Rural Fire Department.
Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple shop buildings on fire, along with several acres of pallet material and brush, and one partially involved mobile home.
MRFD also reported that the Dent County Fire Protection District, Jadwin Volunteer Fire Department, Lenox Rural Fire Department, Licking Rural Fire Department, Raymondville Fire Department, Rolla Rural Fire Protection District, Doolittle Rural Fire Protection District, Salem Memorial District Hospital, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Dent County Sheriff's Office and Intercounty Electric Cooperative were present or assisted in the event.
