In the other first-round match Oct. 22 fourth-seeded Union shut out fifth-seeded St. James 2-0.
In semifinal matches on Oct. 23, top-seeded Sullivan beat Union 2-1 while second-seeded St. Clair shut out Owensville 2-0. Later Oct. 23 Sullivan beat St. Clair 2-1 in the district championship match.
In Class 3 Sectional action on Saturday, Oct. 27 Sullivan was shut out by Jefferson City Helias Catholic 2-0. Helias lost to Logan-Rogersville 2-1 in quarterfinal play Oct. 27 to move to the state semifinals.
In the Class 3 State Tourney semifinals on Nov. 2 Lutheran South (23-9-5) plays St. Francis Borgia (26-7-1) while Logan-Rogersville (36-2) meets Pleasant Hill (27-10-1).
Salem’s Faith Roberts was selected to the all-district second-team announced this week.
