The Salem Tigers will be traveling to Mountain Grove for first-round action in the Missouri Class 3 District 5, the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) confirmed on its website Saturday night, Oct. 26.
In Class 3 District 5, Strafford (8-1) is seeded No. 1, Mt. Vernon (6-3) No. 2, Mountain Grove (6-3) No. 3, Cuba (4-5) No. 4, St. James (3-6) No. 5, Salem (2-7) No. 6 and Buffalo (1-8) No. 7.
In first-round games Nov. 1 Salem plays at SCA rival Mountain Grove, St. James is at Cuba, and Buffalo at Mt. Vernon.
In the semifinals Nov. 8, Strafford will host the St. James/Cuba winner while the Salem/Mountain Grove winner meets the Mt. Vernon/Buffalo winner at the location of the highest seed. The district title game is Nov. 15 at the location of the highest seed.
The Rolla High School football team will host the Camdenton Lakers in the first round of the Missouri Class 5 District 5 Tournament.
Jefferson City Helias (8-1) is the top-seeded in District 5 while Capital City (6-3) is seeded second, Lebanon (5-4) third, Rolla (6-3) fourth, Camdenton (5-4) fifth, Jefferson City (3-6) sixth and Sedalia Smith-Cotton (2-7) seventh.
Rolla will host Camdenton in the first round Nov. 1 while Smith-Cotton is at Capital City and Jefferson City at Lebanon.
In semifinal games Nov. 8 Helias hosts the Rolla/Camdenton winner while the Capital City/Smith-Cotton winner plays the Lebanon/Jefferson City winner at the location of the highest seed.
The district title game is set for Nov. 15 at the location of the highest seed.
The Class 6 District 5 is made up exclusively of Central Ozark Conference schools, as Nixa is the top seed, Joplin No. 2, Springfield Kickapoo No. 3, Ozark No. 4 and Waynesville No. 5.
In the first round Nov. 1 Waynesville plays at Ozark. In semifinal play Nov. 8, Nixa will host the Waynesville/Ozark winner while Joplin hosts Kickapoo.
The district championship game is Nov. 15 at the location of the highest seed.
