Everybody is in favor of cutting government spending just as long as it is someone else whose money is being cut, not theirs.
The best way to cut government spending is to start with the obvious: waste, overpayment for goods and services, ridiculous grants, kickbacks, and graft.
Anyone who has ever worked on a government-funded construction project will tell you the amount of time and material wasted is hard to imagine.
Government purchasing agents will spend $150 for a tool from their supplier (probably their brother-in-law) that they could have bought at a local hardware store for $15. This holds for material, equipment, vehicles, office supplies, etc.
If a project is supposed to cost $40 million, it is pretty safe that it will cost 80 or 100 million before it is finished.
Then there are all of the ridiculous grants handed out to study things that are of no benefit to anyone, they are just “pet projects” of someone who has connections with and government.
The American people need to do what Matthew 21 tells us Jesus did at the temple.
We need to whip the moneychangers and thieves out of Washington, D.C.
