Graveside service for Ronald Eugene Gibbs was December 24, 2020 at Dry Fork Cemetery, with Pastor Joe Hubbs officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
Mr. Gibbs was born May 13, 1950 in Salem to Wilford “Elmo” and Erma Jean (Hampton) Gibbs. He married Vickie L. Drury August 1, 1970. They were the parents of two children. Mr. Gibbs died December 20, 2020 in Nixa at the age of 70 years.
Survivors include his wife, Vickie Gibbs; children, Melissa Smith and husband, Kevin, Springfield; and Brent Gibbs, Pocahontas, Arkansas; brother, Mike Gibbs; sisters, Diane Gilmore and Marsha Williams and husband, Jason; grandchildren, Austin Smith and wife, Shelle; Steven Smith and wife, Angel; Jakob Burns; Sarah Smith; Christian Gibbs; and Chyann Gibbs; great-grandchildren, Aubree and Elias; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Mr. Gibbs was ordained as a Deacon and served in Friendship Baptist Church, Dexter, and Ridgecrest Baptist Church, Springfield. He also sang bass with two Southern Gospel Quartets.
