Funeral service for Dr. Charles Wallace Grosse was March 6, 2021 at Salem United Methodist Church, Salem, with Pastor Barry Baugh officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Pallbearers were Chuck Grosse, Joey Gordon, Chase Grosse, Stephen Grosse, Michael Grosse and Nickolas Gordon.
Mr. Grosse was born September 5, 1926 in St. Louis to Wallace Charles and Lillian Pearl (Skinner) Grosse. He married Carolyn Durham in 1950. Mr. Grosse died February 27, 2021 in Covington, Louisiana, at the age of 94 years.
Survivors include his children, Charles “Chuck” Grosse and wife, Nancy, Atlanta, Georgia; and Chandra Gordon and husband, Joey, Covington, Louisiana; daughter-in-law, Leslie Grosse, Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Scot Lafferty, Shawn Lafferty, Chase Grosse, Stephen Grosse, Michael Grosse, Nickolas Gordon and Carolyn “Mia” Gordon; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; son, Herbert “Chip” Grosse; grandsons, Chad Grosse and Tommy Grosse; brother, Robert Grosse; and mother and father-in-law, Willard and Lila Dukes Durham.
Mr. Grosse was a member of the Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1947 and was stationed in Germany.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Heifer International.
