Funeral service for Bill Smith was September 6, 2019 at Grace Community Church, Salem, with Pastor Mike Cronk officiating. Brenden Smith read the eulogy. Arrangements were under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
Music was provided by Dennis Skiles, Brad Nash and Christy Leathers.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billy Smith, Brenden Smith, Rick Canady, Perry Hoffman, Jimmy Smith and Tyler Teague. Honorary pallbearers were Bryan Mink, Alvin Hoffman, Steven Smith, Stanley Wallis, Jimmy Skaggs, Rodney Wallis, John Smith, Jeff Wallis, Chad Fetters and Darrel Frits.
Mr. Smith was born September 10, 1941 in Timber to Thomas Laverne “TL” and Joy (Dooley) Smith. He married Mary Ann Canady July 1, 1961. They were the parents of two sons. Mr. Smith died September 3, 2019 in Salem at the age of 77 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Smith, Salem; sons, Billy Smith Jr. and wife, Angelea, Salem; and Jason Smith, Salem; brothers, Ronnie Smith and wife, Claudine, Cuba; and Gerald Smith and wife, Sue, Rolla; sister, Carol Pruett, Rolla; brothers-in-law, Rick Canady and wife, Missy, Salem; Jim Wallis and wife, Katheryn, Salem; sister-in-law, Beverly Canady, Salem; grandchildren, Billy Smith III and Brenden Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Conrad Smith; sister, Sue Beck; brothers-in-law, Larry Beck, Howard Canady, Randy Canady; father and mother-in-law, Corb and Marie Canady.
Mr. Smith attended Grace Community Church.
