Funeral service for Shirley Mae (Sapaugh) Dean was October 1, 2024 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating.
Interment was in the Stone Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Chase Sapaugh, Darrell Sapaugh, Jamie Sapaugh, Matt Sapaugh, Stephen Sapaugh, and Benjamin Butler. Honorary pallbearer was Matt Sapaugh.
Mrs. Dean was born July 21, 1937 in Salem to Sylvan and Dorothy Mabel (Petty) Sapaugh. She married Earnest Jack Dean February 9, 1957. They were the parents of three children. Mrs. Dean died September 26, 2024 in Salem at the age of 87 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Margie Butler, Salem; siblings, James Sapaugh, Salem; Eldon Sapaugh, Salem; and Linda Dinzler, St. Louis; sister-in-law and friend, Mary Bacon; grandchildren, Justin Dean, Jessica Dodd, and Benjamin Butler; great-grandchildren, Maci, Triston, and Sophia; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her husband; daughter, Bonnie Dean; son, Eugene Dean; parents; and brothers, Jewell and Eugene Sapaugh.
