Funeral service for Stanley Ray Nelson was August 15, 2025 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Lyndell Decker officiating.
Interment will be in Dry Fork Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andrew Gundel, Dallas Southards, Layton Southards, Joey Zayac, Scotty Bedwell, Jimmy Conduit, Phil Bussey, and Gary Burrow. Honorary pallbearers were Scott Leach, Ronald Nelson, and John Mooney.
Mr. Nelson was born July 9, 1957 in Rolla to Clyde and Gladys (Thomason) Nelson. He was the father of one son. He gained two bonus children when he married Lori Abt and they had two daughters. Mr. Nelson died August 11, 2025 in Salem at the age of 68 years.
Survivors include his children, Kenneth Hanlon, Illinois; Amber Hammack and husband, David, Shirley, Massachusetts; Joey Zayac and special partner, Heather Hinkey, Ozark; Michelle Nelson and special partner, Dallas Southards, Salem; and Sandra Nelson and special partner, Andrew Gundel, Seligman; brother, Ronald Nelson and wife, Marylin, Hillsboro; grandchildren, Savannah Weed, Aryssa Nelson; Ellie Mae, Emma, Edward, and Evie Gundel; and Carter, Krista, Landon, and Luke Hammack; great-granddaughter: Raylee Ann Yates; nephew, Anthony Nelson and wife, Julia, St. Louis; and extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Eddie Gene Nelson; granny, Bertha Nelson and husband, Roscoe; and aunt, Maxine Shultz.
