Graveside service for William Clayton Dye was May 2, 2012 at Cedar Grove Cemetery with Pastor Tim Hill officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
Mr. Dye was born April 14, 1926 in Salem to Guy Arthur and Bernice Mildred (Belew) Dye. He married Peggy Marie Edwards November 19, 1977. Mr. Dye died April 28, 2012 in Salem at the age of 86 years and 14 days.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Dye, Salem; daughter, Vickie McDonald and husband, O’Neill, Woodlands, Texas; nephew, Michael Dye, St. Louis; sister-in-law, Bert Porter, Salem; and a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and one brother, Arthur Lynton Dye.
Mr. Dye served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was awarded the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal.
