Funeral service for Virgil L. Pruett was May 2, 2014 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Bro. Charlie Younger officiating.
Music was provided by Alvin Taylor.
Interment was in the Boone Creek Cemetery, Licking.
Pallbearers were Rick Chapman, Lenny Parks, Vincent Parks, Ryan Nash, Glenn Nash and Michael Stewart. Honorary pallbearers were Mike Pruett, Keith Nash and Dave McDonald.
Mr. Pruett was born February 1, 1915 in Ft. Leonard Wood to Alva and Emma (Davis) Pruett. He married Gladys Martha Ann Wilson November 15, 1930. Mr. Pruett died April 29, 2014 in Salem at the age of 99 years.
Survivors include his children, Bill Pruett and wife, Mary, Salem; Janice Pruett, Salem; and Vicky McDonald and husband, Dave, Springfield; daughter-in-law, Rozetta Taylor, St. Louis; sister, Dorothy Coldiron and husband, Paul, West Plains; grandchildren, Mike Pruett, Bobby Pridemore, Don Stewart, Michael Stewart, Angie Nash, Vincent Parks, Lenny Parks, Rick Chapman and Megan Keller; 23 great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents; step-mother, Edith Pruett; wife; children, Jr. Pruett; Don Pruett; Charlotte Parks and husband, Jim; JoAnn Stewart and husband, Bob; brother, Vernie Pruett and wife, Jewel; grandchildren, Ronnie Pruett and KemAnn Barbera; great-grandchildren, Tina Pruett and Lora Jo Barbera.
Mr. Pruett was a member of the Rambo Pentecostal Church.
