Funeral service for Betty JoAnn Gibbs was October 10, 2015 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Bro. Joe Hubbs officiating.

Interment was in the Edgar Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jim Smith, Kristy Smith, Mark Whitaker, Lacey Whitaker, Janice Griffith and Jay Gibbs. Honorary pallbearers were Danny Medlock and Steve Cannon.
Mrs. Gibbs was born February 25, 1932 in Vienna to Guy Delmar and Ann Elizabeth (Prewitt) Wofford. She married Dorman Gibbs December 30, 1947. Mrs. Gibbs died October 7, 2015 in Fenton at the age of 83 years.
Survivors include her daughter, Vicky Whitaker and husband, Steve, Eminence; sister, Beverly Petrovic and husband, Bill, Sullivan; grandchildren, Jerry Gibbs Jr., Salem; Janice Griffith and husband, Joe Jr., Salem; Kristy Smith and husband, Jim, Cuba; and Mark Whitaker and wife, Lacey, Clever; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Gibbs, Farmington; Cory, Luke and Kylee Smith, Cuba; Joseph III, Jaren and Jacey Griffith; and a host of nieces; nephews; extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Jerry Joe Gibbs Sr.; sisters, Donna Richmond and June Tyler.
Mrs. Gibbs was a member of the Hobson Community Church.
