Funeral service for Ray E. Skeeters was February 20, 2012 at James & Gahr Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Dan Gould officiating.

Interment was in the North Lawn Cemetery, with Full Military Honors.
Pallbearers were Mike Walthers, Mike Pruett, Joe Skeeters, Marvin Sutter, Josh Wisdom and Scott Wisdom. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Skeeters, Randy Skeeters, Jason Skeeters and Stephen Spencer.
Mr. Skeeters was born January 11, 1931 in Dent County to Fred and Minnie (Shults) Skeeters. He married Faye E. Inman October 21, 1951. They were the parents of two daughters. Mr. Skeeters died February 15, 2012 in St. James at the age of 81 years, one month and four days.
Survivors include his daughters, Linda Steelman and husband, Donald; and Lana Greene and husband, Larry, all of Salem; sister, Rozetta Taylor, St. Louis; grandchildren, Stephanie Gould and husband, Dan; Michael Greene and wife, Courtney; and Rachel Greene; great-grandsons, Josiah Gould and Jackson Gould; and a host of extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; four brothers, Arnold Skeeters, Gerald Skeeters, Estel Skeeters and Harold Skeeters.
