Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
Mr. Bass was born March 30, 1935 in Carlsbad, N.M., to Clem Alvey and Dorothy Marie (Moore) Bass. He married Shirley June Smith May 16, 1958. Mr. Bass died March 10, 2017 in Salem at the age of 81 years.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bass, Salem; children, Tom Bass, Ozark; and Lisa Bass, Columbia; brothers, Clem Bass, Albuquerque, N.M.; and Ronnie Bass and wife, Nell, Austin, Texas; sisters, Greta Coalson and husband, Connie, Amarillo, Texas; and Marie Newburg and husband, Roy, Amarillo; grandchildren, Bryan Bass and wife, Katie, Lamar; Jason Bass and wife, Jennifer, Salem; Michael Bass, DeKalb, Ill.; and Andy Bass, Ozark; great-grandchildren, Daniel, Bethany, Charity, Kaylee, Addison, Ella; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents; and son, Mike Bass.
Mr. Bass served in the United States Air Force. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Salem, and was a past member of the Salem Masonic Lodge #225 AF and AM.
