Funeral service for James H. Byars was February 15, 2025 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Chris Hendrix officiating.
Interment was in the Byars Family Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Joe Firestine, Jeff Brooks, Avery Byars, Chad Stemick, Shane Byars, Justin Haney, Shawn Byars, and Jason McElfresh. Honorary pallbearers were Xander Byars, Liam Byars, and Dennis Harrison.
Mr. Byars was born January 2, 1941 in Clay County, Arkansas, to James F. and Lottie Mae (Grogan) Byars. He married Rhonda Gail Harrison October 3, 1987. He was the father of four children. Mr. Byars died February 10, 2025 in Rolla at the age of 84 years.
Survivors include his sons, Timothy Byars, Imperial; Shawn Byars and wife, Kim, Salem; and Shane Byars and wife, Desiree, Marshfield; grandchildren, Justin Haney, Chad Stemick and wife, Laura, Avery Byars, Xander Byars, Liam Byars, Alethea Stemick, Candace Stemick, and Dawn Buckner; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Preceding him in death were his wife; daughter, Melinda Stemick; parents; and siblings, Dudley Byars, Gentry Byars, Lillie Mae Herman, Shirley Fay Spitzmiller, and Roger Webb.
