Funeral service for Junia May “Judy” Turnbough was March 24, 2012 at Viburnum High School Gymnasium, Viburnum, with Bro. Paul Davis and Bro. David Cowin officiating. Special memories were shared by her husband, Jimmy. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Viburnum.
Music was provided by Pam Davis, Jim Pryor and Courtney Mouser.
Interment was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, with Bro. Tom Fortner officiating.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Ricky Turnbough Jr.; Shawn Davis, Kyle Turnbough, Michael Cowin Jr., Tyler Cowin and Jacob Pryor. Honorary pallbearers were nephews, Jeff, Doug, Bill and Tim Turnbough; Branson Dunlap; Chance and Chad Hedrick; Cleatis, Jason, Norman and Colby Payne.
Mrs. Turnbough was born July 31, 1939 in Courtois to Cleatis Willie and Lena Maude (Bell) Payne. She married Jimmy Lee Turnbough December 21, 1958. They were the parents of three children. Mrs. Turnbough died March 20, 2012 in Sullivan at the age of 72 years.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Turnbough, Viburnum; children, Rick Turnbough, Viburnum; Peggy Davis and husband, Paul, Boss; and Connie Cowin and husband, David, Piedmont; brothers, Charles Payne, Potosi; and Norman Payne and wife, Cindy, Dillard; sister, Joyce Hedrick and husband, Dave, Dillard; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Payne, Viburnum; and Vicky Payne, Dillard; grandchildren, Amanda Pryor; Courtney Mouser and husband, Tim; Ricky Turnbough Jr. and wife, Ashley; Shawn Davis; Kyle Turnbough and wife, Jaime; Michael Cowin Jr.; Samantha Cowin and fiancé, Colby Keel; and Matthew Cowin; and great-grandchildren, Jacob Pryor, Josie Pryor, Logan Mouser, Kalei May Davis, Hailey Turnbough, Braelyn Turnbough and Keira “Kiwi” Turnbough.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brothers, Harold and Karl Payne; sister, Verla Faye and husband, Dale Gibbs; and sister-in-law, Irene Payne.
Mrs. Turnbough was a member of Viburnum Assembly of God Church.
