Mary A. Wilson (McCarter) of Salem, Missouri was born on May 27, 1923 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Elmer and Gladys (Dunham) McCarter. She left from this life on Monday, November 7, 2022, at the long term care facility of the Salem Memorial Hospital, Salem, Missouri at the age of 99.
Mary worked for Dr. Hiebert dentist office, and then went to work for Dr. Bass for fifteen years. She was married in 1967 to Ronald T. Wilson. Mary worked at Seville Nursing Home as administrator from 1980-1996.
She was a wonderful mother, fabulous grandma and dear aunt to her nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of the Salem High School. Aunt Mary was a great cook and was known for her green thumb. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and roses. She had a heart full of passion; She loved her cats and loved to crochet and sew with the most beautiful results!
Aunt Mary never said no…just that she’d have to check with Ronnie!
She is survived by her sons, Steve Raulston and girlfriend Carol of Salem, and Greg and wife Kim Wilson of Salem; Grandsons Mike and wife Sheila Raulston of St. Peters, Garret and wife Hannah Wilson and Hayden Wilson of Salem and step-granddaughter Baylee fiancé Kyrin; three great- grandchildren, Benjamin Raulston, Amanda Raulston, Harper Wilson and one on the way; Two sisters-in-law, Donna McCarter of Collins and Miriam McCarter of Salem; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Gladys Dunham McCarter; husband Ronald T. Wilson; three siblings, Ish and wife Jewell McCarter, Jack and wife Irene McCarter, Jean McCarter, and daughter in-law, Carol Raulston.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, 12-1 p.m. at Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel, 1000 West Scenic Rivers Boulevard in Salem, Missouri
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, 1:00 p.m. at Wilson Mortuary Salem Chapel with special music of Amazing Grace, How Great Thou Art and the Old Rugged Cross.
Interment and prayers will follow at Green Forest Cemetery in Salem, Missouri.
