Funeral service for RosaLee Halbrook Byrd was March 13, 2015 at Dent County Memorial Chapel, Salem, with Bro. Charlie Younger and J.J. Tune officiating.
Interment was in the Sunset Memorial Park, St. Louis.
Pallbearers were David N. McMenomy, David McMenomy, Christopher McMenomy, Joey Gatewood, Gilbert Halbrook Jr. and Harley Gatewood. Honorary pallbearers were Richard Nelson, Jimmy Perrot, Ervin Halbrook and Gilbert Halbrook Sr.
Mrs. Byrd was born June 25, 1933 in Turtle to Virgil and Edith Conaway Halbrook. She married George F. Baker. They were the parents of five children. Mrs. Byrd died March 9, 2015 in Festus at the age of 81 years.
Survivors include her daughters, Georgia Baker Gatewood and former son-in-law, Larry Gatewood, Salem; Linda Baker McMenomy and former son-in-law, David McMenomy and friend, Donald Ryan, Salem; and Marilyn Baker Kempa and former son-in-law, Brad, Imperial; brothers, Ervin Halbrook and wife, Gail, Salem; Gilbert Halbrook and Glenna Steelman, Salem; grandchildren, Nina Schellhase and friend, Richard Nelson, Ashley Perrot and husband, James; David McMenomy and friend, Kimberly Richards; Christopher McMenomy; Joey Gatewood; great-grandchildren, Haylee King, Hayven Guestschow, Landon Hamilton, Faith Gatewood, Harley Gatewood, Alexei Gatewood, Allysson Schellhase, Emily Schellhase, Camden Nelson, Carson Perrot, Brody Perrot.
Preceding her in death were her parents; Virgil and Edith Halbrook; husbands, George Baker, Austin Freeman and Lloyd Byrd; children, Melva Baker and son, George Baker Jr.; sister, Hazel Haggard; grandchildren, Tonya Gatewood, and Trisha Dempsey; sister-in-law, Dorothy Halbrook.
