Graveside service for Doyle Sanford Sanders Jr. will be at 11 a.m. July 12, 2025, at North Lawn Cemetery Columbariums, with Military Honors and Pastor Barry Baugh officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
Mr. Sanders was born May 15, 1947, in Boone County to Doyle and Beryl Sanders. He married Libby September 14, 1974. Mr. Sanders died June 29, 2025, at the age of 78 years.
Survivors include his children, Jody Heavin and husband, Chris, Salem; and Douglas Sanders and wife, Sherry, Rockwall, Texas; siblings, David Sanders, Columbia; Dee Sanders and wife, JoDean, Columbia; Diane Sanders, Willow Springs; and grandchildren, Trista, Collin, and Kenna.
Preceding him in death were his parents, and wife.
Mr. Sanders served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
