Celebration of life memorial gathering for Wendell Gerald Parker was November 30, 2019 at Wilson Family Center, Salem, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army. Honor Mission was provided by the South Central Patriot Guard. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
Mr. Parker was born July 14, 1940 in Greeley to Ray Bernard and Esther Virginia (McDaniel) Parker. He married Ruth Ann Radford October 23, 1964. They were the parents of three children. Mr. Parker died November 9, 2019 in Salem at the age of 79 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Ann Parker, Salem; children, Sherri Mitchell and husband, Eric, Olathe, Kansas; Kelly Parker and wife, Angela, Salem; and Kristi Steelman and husband, J.D., Salem; brother, Louie Parker and wife, Faye, Jackson; grandchildren, Ashley Haas and husband, John; Logan Nothaus; Braxton, Kennison and Slayton Parker; and Quincey Steelman; step-grandsons, Drew, Will and Luke Christesen; great-grandchildren, Emerson and Hudson Haas; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Mr. Parker served in the United States Army National Guard for 21 years. He earned many decorations, medals, ribbons and awards.
