Funeral service for Gilbert Eugene Shaw Sr. was November 21, 2018 at James & Gahr Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Brother Billy Miller officiating.
Interment was in the Empire Cemetery, Gladden, with Full Military Honors.
Pallbearers were Larry Shaw, Derrick Shaw, Aaron Shaw, Leon Shaw, Bobby Shaw and Gene Shaw. Honorary pallbearers were Jackie Shaw, Cooper Shaw, Bill Hunter and Dr. Judy Vance.
Mr. Shaw was born September 26, 1944 in Salem to Gilbert “Gib” and Alma (East) Shaw. He married Susan Murray July 14, 1979. Mr. Shaw died November 17, 2018 in St. Louis at the age of 74 years.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Shaw, Salem; son, Gene Shaw and special friend, Missy Mahurin, Salem; grandchildren, Derrick, Aaron and Cooper Shaw; great-grandchildren, Avery, Wyatt and Kinslee Shaw; brothers, Leon Shaw and wife, Lynn; Jackie Shaw; Johnny Shaw and wife, Avon; Bobby Shaw; Larry Shaw; Kenny Shaw and wife, Cindy; sisters, Sue Garmany; Beulah Bond; and Kathy Prince and husband, Jimmy; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Mr. Shaw served in the United States Navy.
