Funeral service for Wayne Williams was August 30, 2023 at Salem Church of Christ, Salem, with Pastor Rick Pitchford officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Wilson Mortuary, Salem.
Congregational hymns were led by Tom Fleener.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the American Legion Post 99 and U.S. Army Honor Team.
Pallbearers were Randal Raulston, Jacob Raulston, Jon Price, David McDonald, Stewart Johnson and Kenny Lawrence. Honorary pallbearers were Jessica Raulston and daughters Elizabeth and Savannah.
Mr. Williams was born September 25, 1933 in Joy to James Marley and Maudie Esther (Hulsey) Williams. He married Inos Whitby September 13, 1957. They were the parents of two children. Mr. Williams died August 27, 2023 in Salem at the age of 89 years.
Survivors include his wife, Inos Williams, Salem; daughter, Joan Raulston and husband, Randal, Salem; sister, Velma Thompson, Salem; grandchildren, Jon, Jessica and Jacob; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Savannah; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding him in death were his son, Michael Williams; parents; brother, Marley Williams; and sisters, Lola Krepps, Mildred Schafer and Eula Poor.
Mr. Williams served in the United States Army during the Korean War and received the National Defense Service Medal.
