Funeral service for Karen Marie (Mehling) Cooksey was October 27, 2024 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Pastor Craig Wiles officiating.
Interment was in the Cooksey Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Cody Calvin, Cory Contreas, Curtis Plank, Edward Kropp, Dylan Kropp, and Ryan Kropp.
Mrs. Cooksey was born February 4, 1956 in Louisville, Kentucky, to Harold and Anna (Huntsinger) Mehling. She married Irvin Cooksey Jr. June 21, 1975. They were the parents of three daughters. Mrs. Cooksey died October 20, 2024 in St. Louis at the age of 68 years.
Survivors include her husband, Irvin Cooksey, Sullivan; daughters, Anna Yeary, Sullivan; Edna Quick and husband, Ron, Bourbon; and Sylvia Nelson and husband, Johnny, Bourbon; siblings, David Mehling and wife, Marie; James Butrum; Sharon Long; and Philip Hafling; father-in-law, Irvin Cooksey Sr., Salem; grandchildren, Shane Bergner, Cody Calvin and Emma, Mary Cooksey, Olvia McCurdy, and Emma McCurdy; great-granddaughters, Esimae and Ella; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; brother, Mike Mehling; and mother-in-law, Thela Cooksey.
