Alta Ruthine (Pruitt) Leming, age 96 of Independence Missouri, passed away on February 25, 2023 at Rosewood Health and Rehab.
She was born on June 23, 1925 in Darien Missouri in Dent County to Willie Arthur and Artha Viola (Krewson) Pruitt.She married Thomas Leroy Leming (of Raymond Kansas) in Salem Missouri on July 4, 1943. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents: husband: brothers: Vernon, Delbert and John. sisters: Bernice, Virginia, Lela and Roberta: grandchildren: Jeremy and Joshua (sons of Gary) Leming.
She is survived by: One Sister: June (Pruitt) Shafer: Two sons: Donald (wife: Shirley) Leming of Independence Missouri and Gary (wife: Belinda) Leming of Lawson Missouri. Five Grandchildren: Laura (Husband: Bruce) Brumbaugh of Independence MO, Tammy Leming of Golden Valley AZ, Rebecca (husband: Jason) Henning of Independence MO and Jennifer (husband: Kris) Kirkwood of Kansas City MO.: Two step grandchildren: Clay (wife Andria) Moore of Pinellas Park FL, Brady (wife Carissa) Moore of KCMO: Seven great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
Alta enjoyed camping, bluegrass music festivals, antique collecting and stopping at most garage sales. She read her Bible every day she was able to and she loved her family. She will be greatly missed.
Memorial service to be held at Eastside Church, 19901 Mo. 78, Independence, Missouri on Saturday, March 18th at 2:00 pm. Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Kansas & Missouri, Lee’s Summit, MO.
