Funeral service for Kevin Scott Atkinson was April 24, 2012 at Wilson Mortuary Chapel, Salem, with Bro. David Gidcumb and Bro. Billy Miller officiating. A eulogy was provided by his son, Matthew Atkinson.
Music was provided by recorded selections.
Interment was in the New Harmony Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Rodney, Steve, Mike and Chris Atkinson; Daniel Blankenship and Jason Albrecht. Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy, Andrew and Robert Atkinson.
Mr. Atkinson was born January 23, 1964 in Columbia to Ronald and Doris Atkinson. He married Aneta Lynn Brummitt October 9, 1982. They were the parents of three children. Mr. Atkinson died April 20, 2012 in Salem at the age of 48 years.
Survivors include his wife, Aneta Atkinson, Salem; mother, Doris Atkinson, Salem; children, Amanda Atkinson, Salem; Matthew Atkinson and wife, Beth, Warrensburg; and Billy Atkinson and wife, Rachelle, Salem; brothers, Rodney Atkinson and wife, Christine, Salem; Steve Atkinson and wife, Tina, Salem; and Mike Atkinson, Salem; sister, Tammy Albrecht and husband, Jason, Doolittle; and grandchildren, Kyleigh, Kassidy, Braden, Jaydn, Linkyn, Nathyn and Alice.
Preceding him in death were his father; nephew, Derrick Atkinson; mother-in-law, Ivy Wade; and brother-in-law, Bradley Floyd.
