Funeral mass for Norma Jean (Betler) Sommer, of Rolla, was December 3, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Rolla. Arrangements were under the direction of James & Gahr Mortuary, Salem.
Private interment was in the North Lawn Cemetery, Salem.
Mrs. Sommer was born April 20, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio, to Dewey Henry and Opal Francis (Miles) Betler. She married Loyola Edward Sommer April 9, 1955. Mrs. Sommer died November 26, 2021 in Rolla at the age of 88 years.
Survivors include her children, Miles Sommer and Lori, St. Louis; Judith Jean Sommerjones and Brock Jones, Columbia; Jennifer O’Day and Gary, Rolla; grandchildren, William Alexander, Dewey Alexander, Nathan Sommerstack, Zoee Sommer, Conor O’Day, Daniel O’Day; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; brother, Bill Betler; sister, Barbara Helm; and daughter, Jacqueline Ann Alexander.
