A settlement agreement with former William Lynch principal Kriste Crocker was approved by the Salem R-80 school board in a special closed session meeting May 12.
The board unanimously approved a motion to approve the settlement agreement and authorized the board president and board secretary to sign the agreement on behalf of the board, according to minutes provided to The Salem News today.
Superintendent John McColloch said today he is not authorized to comment on the agreement and was instructed not to do so.
Crocker’s contract with the district was not renewed for 2020-21 by a 5-2 vote in February at the second of two closed sessions held on consecutive nights. The first involved only board members and seven staff members. The second involved board members, administrators, four staff members and one parent. At that meeting, McColloch recommended she be rehired.
Crocker served as principal at the K-2 school for 13 years. A new principal, Dr. Herman Blau, was hired in March.
Crocker has since taken a job as principal of special services for the Plato school district, according to her Facebook page. She could not immediately be reached for comment.
