A six-year-old boy drowned Nov. 22 after a car he was a passenger in entered a flooded roadway and began to get swept away, according to an online report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The victim and the driver exited the vehicle and both were swept downstream. The location of the incident is Highway TT in Dent County at the Crooked Creek crossing.
The driver safely got out of the stream after exiting the vehicle about 5 a.m., but the victim was found deceased downstream about 8:27 a.m., and pronounced dead by Dent County Coroner Gina White an hour later.
The name of the victim and the driver were not released by law enforcement.
This is Troop I’s first drowning for November and seventh for 2020. The highway patrol was assisted by the Dent County Fire Protection District and Dent County Sheriff’s Office.
