Two area schools announced closures this week, as COVID-19 numbers increase in the county.
Green Forest R-II announced Friday, via its Facebook page, that a positive case was reported and due to the subsequent contact tracing, the school district will be moving to virtual/at-home learning beginning Monday (Nov. 9). Students and staff will return to in-seat learning Monday, Nov. 30, after the already scheduled Thanksgiving break.

Bunker Schools Superintendent Melissa Nash announced this week that the district will transition to virtual learning beginning today (Nov. 6) through Nov. 20. School will be back in session Nov. 23.
All students will begin virtual learning on Monday, Nov. 9 and will follow the schedule and instructions given to them by teachers. No virtual learning will occur on regularly scheduled days off, Nov. 16 and Nov. 20.
Students in grades second – 12th have been assigned Chromebooks and will be expected to participate in virtual learning. Students that are unable to participate virtually will be provided with paper packets and/or flash drives in which lessons will be recorded. Students in grades PK-1st will be provided daily packets.
Beginning Nov. 9, breakfast and a hot lunch will be available for pick-up from the school cafeteria from 10:00 a.m.-noon each day. Students do not have to be present for meal pick-up and one person is welcome to pick-up meals for multiple kids/families.
