A six-year-old boy drowned Sunday morning after a car he was a passenger in entered a flooded roadway and began to get swept away, according to an online report from the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The victim and the driver exited the vehicle and both were swept downstream. The location of the incident is Highway TT near Sligo in northeast Dent County at the Crooked Creek crossing.
