The Dent County R-III school board accepted the resignation of two board members and gave the superintendent a new contract at its Jan. 16 meeting.
Letters of resignation were read from Justin Headrick and Paul Gillam following closed session. No successor will be appointed to Gillam’s position due to his term expiring in April. Headrick’s position will be filled by appointment.
In closed session, the board voted 4-2 to offer Vicky Brooker a new one-year contract as superintendent. Ron Copeland abstained. Members also voted 7-0 to approve Julie Miller as volleyball coach.
In other business, the board discussed selling two buses, No. 2 and No. 8. Also discussed was adding an online option for the Software Unlimited accounting program. The additional cost per year is $1,450 with the pro-rated amount for the current year at $604. The option was approved.
Brooker also gave a superintendent’s report and Kevin Creighton gave a principal’s report.
