On Friday, Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services officials posted a full list of medical marijuana retail dispensaries that were approved or denied licenses. A lengthy application and blind scoring process dictated approval or denial.
The state received 1,163 applications for 192 licenses available.
Nature’s Health and Wellness LLC was awarded three of 24 medical marijuana dispensary licenses in Missouri’s Eighth Congressional District. Its locations will be in Rolla, St. James and Salem. Owners are Wayna Woolman and Cathy Simpson. They were the only applicant in Salem, one of eight in Rolla, and one of two in St. James, according to the final list release by DHSS.
The specific addresses approved for dispensary operations are:
• 1421 Forum Drive, Rolla
• 803 West Scenic Rivers Blvd. Suite A, Salem
• 205 State Route B, St. James
The department previously announced which applicants were approved and denied licenses to operate medical marijuana cultivation facilities in the state. In South-Central Missouri, the approval list included one facility in Maries and Pulaski counties as well as two in Crawford County. The three applicants for Dent County that were denied included, Aurora Estel, LLC, 2 Mullnack Drive, Salem; Bee Valley Farms LLC, 5157 County Road 856, Bunker; and Missouri Alliance for Veterans Care LLC, 1482 County Road 6287, Jadwin.
Patient applications are available online to apply for an ID card. Some of the information includes, but is not limited to, name, date of birth, social security number, proof of Missouri residency, physician certification form which must be obtained no later than 30 days prior to the time a patient submits their application, and a recent photo of the qualifying patient. Registered patients and caregivers are required to have their ID card available when purchasing or in possession of medical marijuana.
Per Article XIV of the Missouri Constitution, a qualifying medical condition is, cancer; epilepsy; glaucoma; intractable migraines unresponsive to other treatment; a chronic medical condition that causes severe, persistent pain or persistent muscle spasms, including but not limited to those associated with multiple sclerosis, seizures, Parkinson’s disease, and Tourette’s syndrome; debilitating psychiatric disorders, including, but not limited to, post-traumatic stress order, if diagnosed by a state licensed psychiatrist; human immunodeficiency virus or acquired immune deficiency syndrome; a chronic medical condition that is normally treated with a prescription medication that could lead to physical or psychological dependence, when a physician determines that medical use of marijuana could be effective in treating that condition and would serve as a safer alternative to the prescription medication; a terminal illness, in the professional judgment of a physician; among other conditions as outlined by DHSS.
