According to online reports of Troop I of the Missouri State Highway Patrol:

• Injuries were reported March 3 as a result of a one-vehicle crash that occurred five miles outside Rolla on Highway 72. A 2010 Kia Soul, driven by Courtney E. Barton, 33, of Salem, was westbound at 9:30 p.m. March 3 when it struck a deer in the roadway. Barton received moderate injuries and was transported to Phelps Health by Phelps Health Ambulance EMS. The Kia sustained moderate damage and was left at the scene.
