According to a report received from the Dent County Sheriff’s Office April 13:
• On April 8, deputies responded to County Road 6460 for a report of an abandoned vehicle. It was later discovered that a male subject was still in the vehicle and was suspected to be intoxicated. After a short investigation, Brian Light, 42, Salem, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Light was transported to the Dent County Jail and later released.
• On April 9, a male victim reported a credit card stolen from his possession. It was discovered that multiple transactions had occurred without his permission. The investigation is ongoing.
• On April 10, deputies responded to the 200 block of County Road 5085 for an alleged assault. The victim, a 19-year-old Salem man, alleged that another man assaulted him at the home. After a short investigation, Billy Morse, 33, Salem, was arrested. Morse is currently being held in the Dent County Jail on a $5,000 cash only bond.
• On April 11, deputies received information on a possible intoxicated driver who had left a business in Salem. Deputies found the alleged intoxicated driver at a residence on County Road 5017. After a short investigation, Angela Sherwood, 36, Salem, was arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Sherwood was later released.
